A pattern across the decades: a Bnei Baruch timeline, 2012–2025

Where you are in the dossier: Documents and appendices Source document

This timeline proves nothing new. It just lays out, year by year, what the dossier already documents — so the continuity comes into view, rather than a single isolated episode. The colour and label on each entry mark its evidence level: document, testimony, suspicion or editorial conclusion — exactly as set out on the methodology page.

⚖ The courts as a running thread. Over thirteen years the association filed a string of defamation suits against the people who wrote and spoke about it: Army Radio, the public broadcaster, "The Seventh Eye", journalists, former members. Against Gur Megiddo alone — four suits, every one of them lost or withdrawn. The "⚖ lawsuit pressure" marker flags the events on this line; the full account is in the piece on the movement's legal machine.

After Army Radio (Galatz) and Kan 11 investigated a "closed cult", the suits turned on the broadcasters themselves — Army Radio and the public broadcaster Kan — and on Megiddo as well; in parallel ran a 3 million ₪ claim against the victims' assistance center, Appelbaum, and related defendants.

    document ⚖ lawsuit pressure · movement's win

The reverse side: in November a court found the 2012 letter (the word "cult") to be defamation — 168,000 ₪ in damages and an apology in Israel Hayom. In a legal fight the word "cult" needs an evidentiary footing, not a general impression.
